Intakes: Most of the Australian universities have two intakes; February and July though few universities offer intakes in September and November as well. Students are requested to apply at least 7-8 months prior to intended intake. Universities usually take 4-6 weeks to process the application

Language proficiency requirements: English proficiency requirement of Australian education providers may vary depending on course, level of education and education providers. Average requirement for undergraduate courses are 6.0 (IELTS) and 6.5 (IELTS) for Master’s. Required language ability may be lower for foundation courses. Students may attend English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) for up to 20 weeks followed by main course in case of low score in IELTS (to cover lacking of 0.5 score in IELTS students will have to attend ELICOS for 10 weeks.
English proficiency requirement does not apply for standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) but it becomes difficult to meet the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement which is a prerequisite to get student visa.
Documents required for Admission:
In order to get admission to a Australian Education provider, an International Student should have the following documents. The requirements may differ by education provider.
- Application form: Once you sort listed the Australian universities, the first and foremost document is the application form. You can download it from appropriate website or you may collect it from their agent near you.
- Statement of Motivation: A ‘Statement of Motivation’ on your proposed higher education in Australia. Explain the following matters in the statement:
- Why you have chosen Australia for your higher studies.
- Which location in Australia would you like study and why you have chosen the location.
- Which education provider would you like to attend for your higher studies in Australia and why you have chosen the institute.
- Your interested field of study and why have chosen the field.
- If you are not planning to sit for English test then explain why you are planning to do so.
- How will you arrange the required fund and
- What is your future plan and how is your higher study going to enhance your career in future.
- Proof of language proficiency: The proof of language proficiency should be provided according to education provider’s requirement.
- School/University leaving certificates: All the certificates and transcripts. (All the documents should be in English. If not, it should be translated in English and notarized)
- Resume/CV (For Master's)
- Minimum two recommendation letters: The letters should be from your previous educational institutes.
- Passport sized photos
- Documents stating work experience (if applicable)
- Proof of funds (if asked)
- Extracurricular activity certificates (if any)
